Weight and Cost Optimization of Knee Bolster Reinforcement:

A 2-piece stamped steel reinforcement was replaced by an injection molded plastic part that provided the same stiffness and impact performance. This resulted in a weight savings of 0.6 Kg and a substantial cost reduction.
